Great Beginnings

Our goal is to offer support and motivation during the hardest part of starting a fitness program – the beginning!

What is the Great Beginnings Program?

A four-week physical activity program designed to encourage healthy lifestyle habits for FAPTO members who are at risk for heart disease and morbid obesity.

  • You will meet with a Certified Personal Trainer once per week for 30 minutes and learn a training method.
  • You will be encouraged to complete the workout 3-5 times on your own until the next training session.
  • Each workout will take no longer than 30 minutes and provide a calorie deficit of 250–500 calories per workout.
  • Each week you will add another 30 minute training method to vary your workouts during the week.

You will have one (1) 30-minute scheduled appointment with a nutrition coach to discuss nutrition and lifestyle strategies each week.  There may be a monthly meeting also available.

The Great Beginnings Program is available to all FAPTO members who meet two or more of the following criteria:
  • BMI >30
  • Body Fat Percentage >40%
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Sedentary/Inactive Lifestyle
